After completion of an honours degree in physiology and pharmacology at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Fownes completed dental school at McGill University in Montreal. He subsequently established his practice in the Montreal area.

With ongoing education, he has made a commitment to bring the most advanced dental techniques to his patients. Dr. Fownes focuses on many aspects of dentistry including: Cosmetic Dentistry (veneers, tooth coloured fillings, bonding); Metal free crowns and bridges, Dentures and Partial Dentures; Root Canal Therapy; Sleep Apnea Appliances; Implants; Periodontal (gum) Treatment.

Dr. Fownes has been a long term member of the Canadian Dental Association, The Quebec Dental Surgeons Association, The Montreal Dental Study Club and The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry as well as other associations.

He has been described as a patient, gentle and kind dentist that gives "great needles". Always ready to listen, he will make sure your treatment is understood completely prior to implementing any procedures.
